Well, it’s actually all over now. Ashley and JP have a public, committed relationship, Ben is alone wandering the vineyards looking for a new girlfriend, and the rest of us are aimlessly searching for a way to fill that void in our own hearts that used to be filled on Monday nights from 8-10pm. What are we to do now- go out and finish our own love stories? Well, that’s no fun. Here are the top 5 ways for us to keep our minds off of our own hearts during that empty Monday night block.
1. Watch The Bachelor Pad 2- I don’t work for ABC, I promise, but if you’ve seen the promo, you know that this season looks even better than the last. Tears, fights, new relationships, and the long-anticipated reunion of Jake and Vienna will definitely keep us on the edge of our pathetic little seats. The cast this season is top notch and as dramatic as ever. Can’t wait.
2. Weekly Cocktail Hour- If you need a little break from the world of heart-breaking roses, there’s one thing that can occupy your mind better than anything: alcohol. Grab your best girlfriends and head out to the hottest restaurant/lounge in town. Monday nights are perfect, because you’ve just had to start the work week and are still trying to hang onto the crazy escapades of last weekend. Why not have a few more? You’ll probably meet some of the sexy suits that have just left a stressful day of work, and are looking for some relief, if ya know what I’m saying.
3. Movie Time- Head to the theater with a couple of friends and see some of the great flicks out right now. I recommend Friends With Benefits or Crazy, Stupid Love. Just because JP has been taken off the market, doesn’t mean we should be devoid of some eye candy. JT (ironic, right?) and Ryan Gosling will most certainly do the trick.
4. Design a Who-Done-It Game- Bet you weren’t expecting that one! If you’ve never been a part of one of these, OMG you need to take the initiative and start one. Create decorative invitations, make everyone dress up 20s-style, deal out characters, and be sure to have some delicious and strong cocktails ready for consumption. Go all-out and use your whole house. Invite 20 of your closest friends and maybe a few extra hotties. Sexy costumes, alcohol, and small spaces- this could get good.
5. Try something new- For a long time now, I’ve been meaning to start scrap-booking. I’m so hip, I know. I have a number of events that need to be chronicled so that they can never be forgotten. Well, good news for me! Two hours a week were just freed up! If you have been aching to glue some pictures to paper like I have, or if you’ve actually had some cooler things that you’ve wanted to get done, those two hours are meant for you.
